Crime fighting often results in offending someone, whether it be slum land
lords, suspects, gang members or drug dealers. So, for obvious reasons, we do
not want any of our members information falling into the wrong hands. Therefore
we established the TBW
is permitted to share membership information, meeting minutes or Tussing Block
Watch emails, memos or other correspondences with anyone who is not listed on
the Tussing Block Watch Membership Roster; established, maintained and held by
the Tussing Block Watch President. Membership information will not be shared with
anyone, to include CPD, city officials and other members; unless written
permission is first given by that member. This policy has been implemented to
ensure the privacy and protection of our members, their contact information and

Tussing Block Watch does not have a foot patrol and we do not have an active
crime patrol at this time.Members of
the Tussing Block Watch are instructed to carry on with their normal daily
activities but to be aware of the environment around them.If something looks out of the ordinary or

you have a Concealed Carry Permit or are interested in carrying a concealed

will first request that a Liaison Officer with the Columbus Police Department
speak with any member who is found to be violating this policy and/or putting
themselves in danger.If necessary, that
member will be removed from the membership list for the Tussing Block Watch for
their own safety and the safety of our members.
*Meetings/Functions:Because the Tussing Block Watch is involved
in so many wonderful projects within the community such as community clean ups,
National Night Out and workshops, the Tussing Block Watch holds quarterly
meetings instead of monthly.This alleviates
some of the scheduling conflicts our members have and the amount of time we
take our members away from their families and allowing them to
participate in more community activities.
though that fewer meetings do not mean less communication, nor do they mean
less crime fighting!Because we maintain
a constant communication with our residents, we feel that urgent matters can be
covered in email updates allowing the quarterly meetings to feature guest
speakers aimed at the issues we are experiencing. In the event that we need to call an
emergency meeting to address an issue, we will.
Block Watch meetings are run by the President/Coordinator.While everyone is allowed a voice, anyone
becoming argumentative, insulting or disruptive will be escorted from the
meeting by the Columbus Police Department.
Tussing Block Watch meetings have a police officer present, whether he/she is
in uniform or in plain clothes.
see our calendar for specific meeting details.
*Emails/Correspondences:Tussing Block Watch emails will only be
sent out to the community by the President of
the Tussing Block Watch.This again
is to ensure the privacy of our members and to ensure that all correspondences
represent the Tussing Block Watch, its board members and the organization
as a whole.
All emails are kept for record purposes.
Any email(s) and/or correspondences containing threats will be immediately reported to the Columbus Police Department.

two things, we encourage you to utilize the Facebook page.Click, share and find!

This November celebrates the TBW’s 3 year anniversary and we are proud to say that many of our members have been fortunate to be with us for that time frame. However during the hustle and bustle of life members sometimes forget to update their information with the TBW.Over the past year we have needed to contact members due to garage doors being up in the middle of the night or incidents that have occurred within their immediate area.In an effort to conserve costs, many home phone numbers have been disconnected and members have gone to using only cell phones. In addition changes in internet providers have changed email addresses for members who are on our email alert system.
Because of these subtle yet important changes, the TBW will be contacting all 750+ TBW members individually to verify all current contact information.
Please click on the attachment below for complete instructions on how and when we will begin contacting members. Please make sure you read this information carefully to prevent releasing your information to someone who is not with the TBW.
